Angelica is also very active in supporting the local community. She and her team have been involved with Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, a foundation that builds and remodels handicap accessible homes to suit the individual needs of our injured United States military veterans. Our team designed a residence to suit an amazing veteran, including a special functional piece of art to reflect a wounded warrior’ rustic style and serves as a souvenir of the courage, dedication, & strength that he displayed when serving our country.
“Design for Hope”, a partnership between Stardust Building Supplies and ASID AZ North, involved designing and remodeling kitchens for three low income families who were in need of both safe and functional spaces. The designers were challenged to use donated materials including cabinets, appliances and fixtures from Stardust and refinish/repurpose/reinterpret them to suit the clients needs and style. Angelica and her team accepted this challenge and designed a kitchen for a family. The standout feature of the kitchen were air filter metal inserts! Angelica removed the geometric metal overlay from air filters found at Stardust and incorporated them as decorative metal inserts in the cabinetry. They became a great decorative feature!
Angelica has also donated time, along with ASID AZ North, to Habitat for Humanity, spending time on homesites to get them ready for families in need of safe and affordable homes.
Our team also participates in Phoenix Art Group Independent Women’s luncheon, which has become one of the valleys most beloved philanthropic events. The luncheon celebrates the Valley’s premier design community as they come together in support of Phoenix Art Museum. Participants design a tablescape showcasing their creativity, and the tables are then auctioned off, benefitting the Phoenix Art Museum in their commitment to excellence in visual arts and education.
Iconic Haus was a virtual tour of a stunning luxury designer showhouse in Paradise Valley, which served as a fundraiser for the Heart Center at Phoenix Children’s hospital.
